Farmers market, Rhododendron Show at Jenkins Estate

Bring on the springtime this weekend in Aloha, where you can shop at the Aloha Farmers Market's opening day, check out the Rhododendron Show at Jenkins Estate, stock up on plants at the Aloha Garden Club's annual sale and fair, or take a bird walk at Cooper Mountain.

Aloha Garden Club: Plant Sale and Garden Faire is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at the Aloha Huber Park Elementary School. Proceeds go to grants and scholarships awarded by the garden club, which has given more than $46,000 since 2003, all from the proceeds of the plant sale.

Aloha Farmers Market: It's opening weekend for the Aloha Farmers Market, which this year plans to run Saturdays and Sundays in the Aloha Mall parking lot.

Song-bird walk at Cooper Mountain:
Metro naturalist James Davis leads this bird walk for adults and children 10 and older. Registration required. 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Rhododendron Show: The stable at Jenkins Estate will be brimming with azaleas and rhododendrons for the judged Rhododendron Show, open noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The plant sale will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Advanced Vegetable Gardening: Farmington Gardens will help veggie gardeners take their growing to the next level. The free class runs 11 a.m. to noon. Registration recommended.
